Oodi and other Helmet libraries to open with restrictions on 1 June 2021

31.5.2021

Helmet libraries have offered limited and mainly reservation-based lending and return services throughout the entire coronavirus period. As of Tuesday 1 June, customers at libraries will be able to pick up works directly from the shelves.

It will also be possible to use, print, copy, and scan at customer computers in libraries. Separate group work facilities and reading rooms will remain closed.

Library spaces will be opened with a 50% customer capacity and seating will also be reduced by half. Other arrangements will also be made in library premises to ensure safe distances are maintained, for example at computers and copy machines. All persons aged over 12 must continue to wear a face mask when visiting the library, if there is no health reason to prevent the use of a face mask.

Central Library Oodi’s services starting from 1 June

As of Tuesday 1 June 2021, customers will be able to pick up works directly from the shelves and read magazines as normal. It will also be possible to use, print, copy and scan at customer computers in libraries.

We are opening the 2nd floor services step by step taking care of safety and current guidelines. Oodi’s media workstations are now open. Media workstations are equipped with filmscanners, Wacom pen displays and Adobe softwares and are intended for drawing, photo editing, layouting, video editing and other digital creating. Other second-floor facilities and devices cannot be reserved. This means that premises, such as workspaces, reading rooms, games rooms, studios and the Urban Workshop, are unavailable.

School and day care groups by appointment only.

Restaurant Oodi and the third-floor café will open later in June.

Face mask usage is required in the library. Please maintain safe distances while accessing library services. Do not come to the library if you are ill.
